Texture and shape found in nature through exploration, travel and investigation are Judi's most important influences.

Sea creatures and weather formations, fabric folds and textile richness or historic ceramic techniques all come together to inspire the form and texture of the work.

Judi does not wish to replicate what is found in our world, but rather to reinterpret and create new objects that remind us... and allow us to reflect on our memories.

Wheel throwing and hand building start the process of creating these one of a kind forms and vessels.

Judi alters and distorts forms before deeply carving, hand texturing and surface detailing.

Kiln firing twice allows for the addition of delicate glazing work and the melting of  glass frit(crushed glass) for additional surface interest.

The process is long and involved and requires both planning and improvisation.
